  1. Hey guys. I have a 2011 Forester with a 2" lift and bigger tires. When I got the tires mounted they were inflated to the stock tire pressure to make the tire sensors happy. I recently inflated them to the recommended pressure on the tire itself (50 psi), but the tpms light is on on the dash now. Is there any way to calibrate that so the light goes off or do I have to deal with under inflated tires from now on?
  2. I had to work yesterday so i couldn't finish the job. I got it all back together just now and the clutch works now. I'm not sure what the problem was with the new kit/resurfaced flywheel, but it's working proper now with all the old stuff back in it.
  3. Well I feel like a complete moron! I forgot to re tighten the oil pan bolts while the engine was out.
  4. My bad, I had to work late last night. I will get it done this morning.
  5. I'm calling it quits for the night. All I have to do is hook the exhaust back up and put some water in the radiator. I'll post tomorrow after work.
  6. Motor is back in. Nothing else connected yet (wiring, clutch, hill holder, cooling, ect). Vehicle rolls forward in gear with a ratchet on the crank. I'll let you know what happens when everything is hooked up.
  7. No, I'm done with it honestly. I'm just putting everything back together the way it came out, minus the throwout bearing. I cleaned to the best of my ability the og flywheel, now I'm putting it all back together. If it ain't broke, don't fix it lol.
  8. https://imgur.com/a/2cjlkcQ This is the flywheel I had resurfaced.
  9. I am working on that now. I'm going to use the resurfaced flywheel also. Or should I use the old one the old clutch disk already knows?
  10. I think I'm just going to put the old stuff back in with the auto parts store throwout bearing.
  11. The whole surface of the flywheel was resurfaced, not just where the disk sits but the pressure plate surface too.
  12. I put a washer between the cable and the clutch fork to get a little more adjustment out of it, and it would shift into the high gears, but not the low. I honestly don't know how to get the fork off.
  13. So I ran the car after the clutch replacement and the motor ran fine. I put the car in gear when I figured out something was wrong and started it to get it out of the garage. I ended up taking it down the road about 5 miles, and when I needed to shift I just kinda Rev matched the gears and it fell right in each shift.
  14. I'm sorry I keep machine gun posting. I just bolted the new disc and PP to my old flywheel. The fingers are now kind of out toward where the transmission would be. Does that maybe mean that the flywheel I had resurfaced has been taken to the machine shop 1 too many times and is now too thin?
  15. I'm learning stuff here. Upon tightening the PP bolts, the fingers flatten out. That being said, I'm back to having absolutely no idea what is going on with this car.
  16. So I think I'm gonna try and Frankenstein my clutch together. Use the disc and pilot bearing that came with the kit, my old pressure plate, and the throwout bearing I got from the auto parts store. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, I'm only out the price of the bearing, some coolant and a couple hours time.
  17. https://imgur.com/a/s9ysWtI This is my old pressure plate sitting on the box the new clutch kit came in. Notice the "fingers" are kinda pointed toward where the tranny would be? I'm curious if this was the source of my problems.
  18. https://imgur.com/a/gCc7FmH This is the new pressure plate that is on the engine right now. I'm not sure what they're actually called, but the "fingers" are flat across.
  19. Hopefully I did that right. Thebearing on the left is the old one from my spair tranny. The one in the middle came with the clutch kit, and the one on the right is new from the auto parts store.
  20. The "fingers" on the new pressure plate are completely flat across the part. The "fingers" on my old pressure plate kinda go upward like a dome (it's laying down on my bench).
  21. Aside from that slight difference in the bearing I couldn't tell you what's going on.
  22. I swear it's impossible to post pics on this site.
