  1. If your exhaust is still the small diameter original exhaust it could limit you from building proper boost. Do you have a boost controller and are you using the stock ECU for a turbo EA82. How you have your turbo set up is really important. Please give more info on the setup you have.
  2. Right, Right Agreed there. Do it right the first time and then improve from there. I will definently go the 5 spd route when I do the EJ22 swap. Thanks for the great info Everyone!!!!!! For now I am going with the SPFI conversion and a 4" lift.
  3. Why is it not recommended to adapt a 4 speed D/R Manual to a n EJ22? I persoanlly like the 4spd and and am thinking of doing the swap further down the road. Just trying to pull together important info.
  4. i have the same problem with the stripped holes on the cylinder heads where the exhaust bolts up. Heli-coil to the rescue for sure. And it sealed up perfectly!!! I am glad someone invented a way to repair threads. Hey subieguy have you made a custom header for an EA81 that doesn't have a cat and instead just a collector??? I would be interested in having one......
  5. I have blown out both of my struts and broken both strut tops on my hatchback. I am ordering a 4 inch lift kit soon and I am wondering if I should get OEM Subaru parts (adjustable struts) or some aftermarket KYB (non adjustable struts)? What would be better with the lift? Also does anyone have expirience with the KYB strut mounts? I want something that is pretty durable? I got this subie with 228000 miles on it so there is no wonder why the struts didn't last. I am pretty sure the struts were blown when I got the car and thats probably why the mounts were destroyed soon after the off roading began. A couple times up and down the wash, over a few hills, 3 or 4 lauches in the air, lots of sliding sideways and that was pretty much it..... Any advice on some durable components?
  6. is the project complete??? I am interested in the turn out. I am scrounging together all the parts for a SPFI swap now also. I am convinced its a great mod for a carbed EA81.
