  1. I wanted to thank all of the volunteers, vendors/sponsors, and attendants for making this one of the best shows yet.

We had 220+ cars registered for the show, and a good majority of those showed up on Friday and camped all weekend with us.

Our Vendors/Sponsors really stepped up huge this year to allow us to put on a great show.

    Thank You!

Special Thanks needs to go out to Subaru. They allowed us to have a great location, and kept plenty of us from going hungry! They brought along some pretty 2010 Legacy's too!

For perhaps the first time ever, we ran out of t-shirts! If you didn't get one and you would like to order one, we will be doing a second order and shipping them to you. Please email Richie@fixmysuby.com to order them!

We are also looking for pictures of all the winning cars. If you won, or have pictures of cars that did, post them up or email them to westcoastsubarushow@gmail.com. We'll get them up on the website

I was super stoked on a turnout of the old school rides. Way to go!

Thanks again for another great year!

  2. We're coming for the first time. Sounds like fun. Mailed the registration fee as don't do paypal. Couple questions: what time does gate open on Friday? Can I bring a well behaved Samoyed (on a leash)? Do we pay for camping at the gate?

Also, some good trout fishing around that area - maybe salmon/steelhead too. Will check to see what's legal if anyone is interested.

At this point plan on leaving Portland by noon Friday (earlier if I can get day off). Silver 83 wagon OR plate NOPO2.

    Can't wait!

Gates open in the afternoon on Friday. We don't have a set time yet, but I would imagine around 2pm.

You CAN bring your dog, however we request that they stay in the camp area. Dogs must be nice and on a leash and under control at all times. You must scoop the poo! And please also be aware that it is a car event, so if your dog is easily spooked or annoyed by cars, that they are left at home. We want people and dogs to stay safe.

Camping fees will be collected at the gate.

  3. Where's the dirt?

Go get get a real 3 door and try again.

    I smell a photoshop job ;)

We aren't talking about your wagon...

Those lug nuts remind of the Roman war chariots that had the spikes on the wheels.

So Tex, should we name your wagon Romulus Maximus? :-p

Hahaha, yeah. I really need to do something about those. I call the wagon "Brown Beast".

No skidplate to protect the ole Oil pan?

with all the money spent on this, I would think that would be a must.

I learned to wheel following 2 of the most competent and skilled drivers around. They taught picking lines and finesse will get home at the end of the day.

Before the swap, I had a skid plate. Had the stupid 3" drop block in the front. I hit it on the front more than I got close to hitting it on the bottom. After the swap, I decided to ditch the skid plate. It would have to be way to low to clear the pan. The big thing the skid plate protects on the EA82 cars is the stupid oil sender... Damaging that is a day ender. But with the EJ22, I no longer have that to worry about.

My wagon runs without a skid plate too. Some of us just like to live dangerously .. like playing baseball without a cup
sooner or later, it might kinda hurt.

3rd place, still got some love for the old 80's stuff. good.

 1st place went to a really really nice xB, and 2nd place went to my teammates super clean Outback.

Nice, I like this wagon (didn't think it was ever took on trails) How did it go up the rocks?

    -Tom

Car doesn't get out as much as it used to. Its hard to find time, and people that are going in comparable rigs/skill level.

The wagon wheeled a lot differently than normal. For one, I didn't have the safety net of big swampers. With my A/T's I have to be a lot more specific where the tires are put. I drive this car as my daily driver, so I have one of the rear axles pulled out. I took an axle with me in case we got to something I couldn't get up, but that didn't happen.

The most difficult climb I had to attempt 3 times... mainly it was trying to figure out the best placement of my single locked rear wheel

  4. Those things are monsters huh? My last set of wheels (peugeot alloys) had a real deep lug hole, and I had trouble getting my normal nuts tight enough with my socket. I had these monstrosities laying around from some raffle I won at a show, the worked fine on those!

I've been thinking about changing them back to my old ones stock style lugs, but I have to find them, then get off my butt and do it.
