the question REALLY is... why ISN'T yours ???? -

those are both great ideas.... im going to be in the bay area all summer and i'm going to be hitting a few of my favorite yards... and they cycle through their stuff all the time.... i dont think it should be too much trouble to get my intake pipe... i hope... i wish they had a closed hood policy... as long as your car emits under the amount that is allowed... it should pass.... what a bunch of hooey. i still need that intake though... so if anyones got an extra one... hit me up....

thats a great idea, and i read it both times you posted (hehe) i just dont want to get there, and they point at it and say, sorry... and i'm out another 45 dollars.. and thats how it would go.. so! if i can just buy a non-cracked one, then im golden, yes? thats my angle, thank you for the idea though!

does anyone know if that purge control solonoid thing is the same for loyalles or NA EA82's?? headin to the jy again to check inventory. thanks! Also Zukiru had the baffle-less Intake tube (thank you for looking!) , so i still need it!!!! Anyone!? and! why in the world is the one i grabbed shorter then the baffle one?? whats different? it seems theres a specific engineered reason for it... does anyone know? thanks!!!

no worries man! thanks for the reply, i dont think theres any turbo cars here in chico, i'll be in the bay area on the 9th of may, maybe i'll hit it up then. the guy said my car looked like it would breeze thorugh emmissions, so i just have to get the idle down (its at 1300, instead of 800, probbaly because of that broken idle valve.... the physical nipple broke off the unit) and get those hoses replaced and plenum taken care of.. ... and i SHOULD be good

Hello to all! Got that 87 GL-10 and let me tell you a few things that kinda pissed me off.... First i didnt pass because of visual. that just makes me angry. if my car isnt polluting, WHY cant it pass??? grrr (gripe gripe *************** moan) ok! so i just got a set of gen 3 heads, and when i grabbed them, i also grabbed the intake plenum, and some other things. Check this out... The top one is mine with that baffle thingie on it. when i grabbed the second one off of the gen 3 motor, i noticed it didnt have a baffle. thinking nothing of it, i grabbed it (since mine has a few cracks around the inlets). this intake piece is TOO SHORT!!!!! by an inch! what the CRAP!? So! I need the following..... 1) Idle Purge control thingie shown here... and from the above picture, an intake plenum with baffle (i guess, my car is an 87) and hoses 1, 2, and 3. if they're hard as rocks and wont come off that plastic hose, i'll take that as well.... SO! 1) Intake from MAF to Turbo inlet 2) Idle Purge (whatever its called) 3) Hoses 1, 2, 3 THANK YOU!!!! (should i post also in the parts wanted??)_ I cannot get my car back on the road without these things, and they have to not be cracked. STUPID SMOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can paypal TODAY to get stuff moving... i need to pass smog!! thanks!!!!

XT6 Back up and running, Driver Side timing belt let go.... Small screwdriver is NO LONGER SOLD from sears.... i bought the replacement set and it does NOT work.... sucks... so i had to get a 1/8" wide, electricians screwdriver (which is long and skinny) removed the tensioner pulley, left the tensioner mechanism there, put the belt on, twisted the tensioner mechanism so it was low and while holding, started re-installing the the t-belt pulley. continued on to passenger side.... madness... but now i could do it in 5 minutes..... well... 25 minutes Off to update my posts! it was fun... and i took the championship!

So i took the Disty Cap off and checked for the "screw" (and by screw i mean the one that goes into the rotor head) screw was present and the rotor head was solid..... Not sure how to check the computer (didnt know if it was the same as the GL-10) so i turned the key on with no plugs in ....... 2 short blinks Turned the ignition to on with the green plugs ....... code 11 (one long one short) Turned the ignition to on with the Black plugs ........ code 11 and 24. cant find the codes in my FSM.... looks like its the timing belts.... if so how easy does that radiator come out?? is it necessary to remove? anyone got those codes for me?? thanks!!! Luigi EDIT: found the part in the FSM and it says (with the black connectors connected) i have Code 11 (crank angle sensor) and code 24 (By-pass air control valve) the car was running just fine before it died at 60 mph... still think its the timing belt? -
a flash of the check engine light... then nothing... dies.... i try restarting on the fly.... nothing i roll to a stop.. try restarting.. nothing any ideas? literally happened tonight... havent done a thing yet... i'll flash the computer... but any ideas??? timing belt? crank angle sensor (if it has it) ER27 thanks!!
