  1. hate to state the obvious. go and fix the cause of the problem. I had overheating issues with my EA82, I did everything I could to overcome it, flushed radiators, replaced water pumps, wired up the fans together. in the end, I blew a radiator hose 200 kms from home. the cause? a radiator which appeared to flow ok, but was full of ************e. had I bit the big one and took it to a competent mechanic, paid the few hundred dollars to keep him in a job, I wouldn't have had the headaches, or made myself feel like a tool for not fixing it properly. by the way, I wired mine up to the spot lights wiring, disconnecting them, but it was an emergency measure which got me home. surely you could parallel them to the first fan without causing problems
  2. hey guys, was wondering what had happened to ausubaru. hope it all comes good soon.
  3. g'day mate, 20 meg is a bit much for my poor little 56k. good to see a few aussies around the USMB.
  4. love your work, brilliant. can't wait to see it
  5. greetings from Oz, a suby transplant into a VW sounds great, but yeah, I can see the issues with the front mounting of the engine along with the awd concept. Major fabrication work either way. An Audi into Golf project would be a simpler proposition, as both are transverse mount, and both already have the engine in the front. I rekon a mid mount, rear wheel drive is a more feasible project, but I can understand the desire for four wheel drive. I have an old rear engine Renault for a bush basher which I am thinking doing a mid mount job on. good luck.
  6. I've always had the quandry in my head. "To lift or to lower, that is the question." My L series touring wagon has seen both. currently working on dumping it, as I now have the EA 82T conversion complete, and plenty of good roads to chase rex's. And rear wheel drive just to keep it interesting. theres a few lowered old school subs around the board that I can see so far So XT struts are the go?
