  2. hey out there to all my local Subaru fanatics, Who wants to help me put my engine back in my car? I will be doing it most likely thursday.... in the evening? My everydaY DRIVEr just gave out... gotta get the ru on the road... ordering parts from thepartsbin.com.. should have it back together soon. any suggestions?

I live just off of 160th... on 166th... thats scary... whats up.. man. do you own a blue wagon? thats or a white wagon...or an old red gen-1 wagon? those are the only 5speeds in this neighborhood... that I'm aware of.   5. What does a multi angle valve job run? and I could get that done at the Machines shop?
  6. ok just a few quick questions. on the fifth I am going to be taking my heads to the machine shop, do I have to take the valves of or can they for a minimal service fee, or can they stay on? what are the benefits of grinding your valves, thanks!
  7. this story has to do with a subaru key... This kid that I work with had to run to the store so I said take my plymouth. I give him my keys. he comes back about 5 minutes later to say was it the big funny looking key? and I said no why? well the big funny looking key is stuck in the ignition.... I am on top of a roof at the time so I go you better get that key out... he goes no problem and messes with it for about 20 minutes and says he has to go home... I'm like ok... so I go out there and fiddle with it... its stuck on one of the pins.. and i'm pulling, tugging and ripping at it... the key snaps.... so now I'm out my only key for my subaru and I have to bust the column and the ignition out of my plymouth and this kid doesn't acknoledge that he done anything wrong. even though I told him (and showed him wich key it was...) I had to take the trunk lock out of the subi and take it to the locksmith to get a key made 25.00 plus my labor... the new ignition and column for the plymouth 250.00 so I still havn't gotten the new collumn or ignition for the plymouth... but the ru I did that the next day and it doesn't even run! -Xoomer
  8. Thats why I register my cars out to some address outside of king county, My personal favorate is (I used to actually live there its a one horse town) I didn't even have mail delivery there. General Delivery McCleary WA 98557 Then when its time to sell the car I go and spend $8 on a Affidavit in leu of... That is what I do for any car that is questionable.. Xoomer

  10. on my EA82 Semi Dry, with a little bit of coolant in it I lifted the motor on its side and picked it up by the bellhousing and the crank and lifted it out.... then went inside to call my friends that all the hard work was over they could come over now... I'm not all that strong... Marine corp pushups... thats what did it.. Xoomer

  12. I was wondering if the logos for the vortex and the XT were that much different... I was also wondering how hard it would be to get ahold of those vortex logos... as I wan't something different Xoomer

The motor is out... stupid friends... didn't help... had to take the thing out all by myself... back hurts now... anyway does anyone know were one could get replacement bolts for all the ones I have lost during this escapade... the rebuild gets started on thursday.. hopefully will have completed by the end of september... tear down... wait for money... machine heads... wait for money... buy timing belts and head set... wait for money... buy replacements for anything I broke... rebuild... Get the title.. and register Wait for money.... Like I said... I am going to need a few replacement bolts for stuff that has just dissapeard... should I just go to a pap and yank said boltS? and then say there was nothing I needed? -Xoomer

  15. These are the last two questions for the foreseable future.. 1. I need to find a good Machine shop in PNW Any Suggestions? 2. I want to know because I am doing a out of body experiance with my ru.. what parts should I replace besides the gaskets? should I do the waterpump? oh and one more? when I'm all done.. I want to put a new scoop on the front... like a impreza hood scoop or something to that effect.. one of those covered ones... with the hole in front... should I get a none turbo hood and cut it to put one on or should I unbolt the old scoop and put on a new one?
  16. if you are interested in my saga at all. I have gotten my car to run.. its still got blowing head gasket but very light... so I am going to pull the motor... and do both sides... and new belts.. all that other stuff... Q: is motor removable with just you and friend to lift it out? Q: Best brand for replacement parts Q: What is the full over haul procedure I.E. New waterpump oil pump timing belts and new Gaskets?   17. Well... I tore it all apart... and the passenger side gasket was split up really bad... and did not look good at all... cheap sh*t... so I don't know what is going on.... gonna try my old head... and new intake gaskets...
  18. I'm betting passenger side head... its a used head? the problem showed up about that time...
  19. Wtf is this I go to emty my oil and I find it full of water... I just replaced the heads... and was having problems... its not just milk shake its go a protective layer of water... does this mean cracked block? or bad water pump? or what?
  20. Well I got my XT Running... Well sort of... She is running real rough and smoking blue... thinking that is just from all the oil and crap that got into the intake and turbo when the hg blew... and idleing really low... timing off? great to have her running again though... Well I thought I had her running again.... i guess I didn't i fill her up with water and all of a sudden I have a milkshake..... Cracked block? or bad intake gaskets... its one of the two....
  21. ok.. I knew I heard of that stuff... just wasn't sure were... what could I do to convert my car over to it?
  22. Would that keep me from running??? and is it possible that new valves would fix it or should I just switch heads? if your Idea is the winner,.... I will personaly hand you the Title To the Beast.... its a plymouth but would make a beautiful go cart? j/k Xoomer,... DUH That could be it... No Compression= No RUN gonna go check while posting this... its possible... some of the rockers are loose... as in movable with one finger just a little bit... when in place and cam against it... and on that note... there was a horable slaping sound comming from the cam/rockers... the rocker would slam down on the cam like the valve wasn't moving smoothly with the cam.... ::banghead::

  24. ok.. my teminoligy sucks.... (so Does my spelling...) the little arm between the Hla and the valve? valve springs? does that mean anything?
