The brat leaks, maybe from the gutter?

Recommended Posts

Yes I have a 87 gl wagon and I had water coming in and could not find the leak. One day I was cleaning the dirt out of the gutter rail and to my surprise, there is a body seam. It is where the roof meets the door pilliar. .there is body sealer that the factory used and over the years ,it cracks. So I scraped it out and cleaned it good and resealed it. No more leak! Now on two years and I live in Oregon. and it does rain a little here. P.S. you have to look good for the seam.

Sweet, thanx. I'll have to get in there and check it out soon.

1985 BRAT: Not entirely sure where the water is getting in, but it comes into the cab at the panel joint between the A-pillar and above the door trim pieces. My only guess so far, is in the gutter channel on the roof. Any thoughts or experience with this?
Remove the t-top and inspect the corners of the body where the t-top sits. There are two drain holes in each corner. If they clog up, water will find another way to leak into your car. A straightened coat hanger wire is what I used to clear out the ones in my '84 Brat.
