November 3, 200916 yr '85 GL wagon when i press the buttons on the dash to change the vents to defrost, heat, etc, the air flow doesn't change, which really sucks because i need a defroster. What could be causing this and how can it be fixed? Thanks!
November 3, 200916 yr My heater controls don't do anything either. I got lucky; mine happen to be stuck on defrost.
November 3, 200916 yr Check the vacuum supply in the engine bay and the connections at the accumulator (the white, tank looking thing at the top of the passenger side firewall). The actuators are vacuum driven and without a vacuum supply they will do nothing and be stuck in the last posistion. The actuators and the switch rarely fail so it's most likely a supply issue. GD
November 3, 200916 yr I will second the vac supply issue. worked on many of these cars over the years and have never seen the actuators go bad. the vac canisters will crack sometimes or the line will get pulled off next to the EGR.
November 4, 200916 yr Author its the accumulator. where is the vacuum hose going into it supposed to plug in?
November 4, 200916 yr Ya it sould be right on the passengers fire wall area, we didnt put it back on after the intake swap I bet........................ Jeff
