Rear washer sprayer

Featured Replies

My rear washer sprayer isn't spraying anymore, is there a rear reservoir, or something that causes these to malfunction?

Let us know what kind of Subaru you're working on :) maybe put it in your signature like I did with mine.

There is a rear reservior - if you open the rear door it should be along the jam on the side somewhere I think. Been a while since I messed with an EA82 wagon rear washer but all Subaru's with rear washer's have a rear tank and pump. Maybe it's just empty?

OK, on your wagon it's behind the curved corner panel on the driver's side; the panel also gives access to the taillight's bulbs.

On mine, I found that the check valve was corroded. After the washer pump there is about 12” of tubing then a spring loaded check valve, the tubing continues up to the nozzle above the rear window. I pulled the check valve out and then ran the washer pump and it shot wash fluid across the garage so I knew the pump was good. I soaked the check valve in white vinegar for 10 minutes then made sure the check ball moved freely by poking it with a little screw driver. Put it back together and for the first time since I bought the car four years ago I can see behind me…
