Need help understanding the divorced t-case mod

Featured Replies

After looking at the funky drawing, it looks like the front diff is mounted upside down - is that right? or is it mounted the normal way up?

Im not the poster on that one...but I think you have to assume that it was done for ease of making the drawing. (re-using the specific art piece)

Flipping a diff like that would cause oiling issues as well as make the front tires turn in the wrong direction.

The front dif is mounted "right side up" The transfer case keeps everything spining in the right direction;)

I now have my transfer case, and am geting ready to do this mod to my wagon:clap:

Now do you have to use the Nissan T-case? Is there anything about that unit that makes it ideal over like a Suziki T-case?

A sammy case will work too. What U are looking for is a case that has the front and rear out puts in line, and the input off-set. This arangment makes for the best mounting of all the drive train. The Datsun is the best fit, but there are others out there that will work too.

OK say when you say the Zuki case will work does that meen it has the right configuration? It's been awile since I've had it on it's side.:)

Yes the sami case will work, but you have to rotate the whole thing when installing to get the input and outputs vertical.
