subaru turbo

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what the number is on the legacy rhb5 turbo compared to the EA82 rhb5 turbo. I saw a different thread about either putting the EA82 exhaust housing on the legacy turbo or Putting the legacy intake wheel and housing on the EA82 turbo and then having it balanced. I want to get one off ebay to upgrade my car. Any other suggestions on turbos that would give about the same spool up time but better power. I am in the process of making an equal length turbo header and new downpipe so flanges don't make that much of a difference.

Also I will be having copper head gaskets made if anyone else needs some. He said it would probably be around 60.00 for the set

i want a header pipe for sure. How much?

Our EA82 turbos are VF7.

Legacy (us spec '92 or so) is VF11

The VF11 uses the same flange size as the WRX VF 22, 34, TD04 etc...for exhaust-intake (into the turbo) and exhaust-exhaust (out of the turbo).

I'm interested in a header pipe as well. i may be getting a quote on that soon here, but i'd like to see what yours looks like and costs.

i guess the t-bird, should work just about the same. they had like 3 difffernt ones, so you gotta get the biggest one, i think its off the later cars. but the big t-bird and the legacy turbo are very close. and you shouldnt have to do any balancing, just take off the exhaust housing from you old turbo, and put it on your new turbo. you never have to take any props off. toss an intercooler in there while you are going through the trouble of plumbing. beat that sube!
