I have 2 buddies, 1 has a spfi engine that is perfect and the other needs a mpfi engine. What all needs to be swapped , or do I tell them they're out of luck. If it wont work what is a freshly resealed, rewater pumped, rebelted

EA82 spfi worth. note: the reason the good engine is for sale is the weekend after he fixed and service it he was rear ended coming home from Stevens pass.

This is the car I've Benn getting all the interior and other good gl parts for my stinky dl.

Only the block is the same. From the heads on out it's entirely different. You would have to swap only the short block.

 

If the "MPFI" is a turbo - forget about it. Compression is way too high on the SPFI block.
