January 23, 201016 yr i can get you the covers i have piles of them... been replacing the 2.5 dohc with the 2.2 sohc.
January 23, 201016 yr Author The passenger side cams were off about 10 degrees from where they should have been when the rest of the marks were aligned. Very happy it didn't slip anymore than that since I'd be looking at a lot more work if that happened. Definitely explains the rough idle.
January 23, 201016 yr while you have it apart inspect the cam gears for chips or cracks. If any are found replace them.
January 23, 201016 yr Author Everything back together. Runs a whole lot better now. Looks like the thermostat might be leaking is the only oops on the whole thing. Missing three bolts from when the dealership looked at it and never put it back together. Redo the thermostat in the morning and drive it over to the dealer to get the bolts that they didn't give me. Thanks again for all the help. Next up is brakes, but I've done those before so that's an easy one for me.
