April 25, 201015 yr Just wondering if it will fit i know anything is possible and the EZ30 motor will fit in the XT6 but then again that is a 6cyl car to begin with is the EG33 the same length? i think 220+ hp would be very fun in an RX sedan Rob. Edited April 25, 201015 yr by subaruguru
April 25, 201015 yr EG is by far the biggest subaru motor. the radiator will need to be moved forward quite a bit. the EG33 barely fits in an XT6 engine bay, which is already a few inches larger than an EA82 one.
April 25, 201015 yr Author i have no problem moving the rad it can go down and forward quite a bit the car will not have A/C so there is quite a bit of space to be used there. Rob.
April 25, 201015 yr We could always move the radiator to the trunk and punch some sweet louvers in the decklid..... -Bill
April 25, 201015 yr Author i was more thinking extending the front of the car not much but it kinda looks funny. Rob. Edited April 25, 201015 yr by subaruguru
April 25, 201015 yr The ez is not much longer then the stock ea. You'll have to move the fans but I bet it will fit. The ez is just a hair shorter then the xt6 er27 as I got much more room in my car.
April 26, 201015 yr Author ok so yeah im not going to make the nose longer just ruinsthe look of the car but i do plan on doing this i will go through all possibilitys most likly the radiator will be relocated to the front side of the core support if i cant find a way to do it i will just put a 2.2 in the RX and put the EG33 in an impreza but untell then I WILL CONTINUE RESEARCH!!! Rob.
April 26, 201015 yr Author lol maby, maby but i would rather not.... BUT now that you have me thinking about it hmmm im going to start taking mesurments and drawing stuff up i have a few thoughts on this... but for now i went and got pics with the digital cam. Sitting patiently for me to rescue her. Rob. Edited April 26, 201015 yr by subaruguru
April 26, 201015 yr You got some work ahead of you just with cleaning!!! Hurry up and get that thing out so you can at least get started on that!!!
April 26, 201015 yr Author i know i already plan to remove the dash found a bunch of mouse ************ in the glove box but at the very least least it will be at the subaru show with a 2.2 in it untell i get everything for the EG swap. Rob.
April 27, 201015 yr Author got some photochopping nothing special but i think it would look good with something like this. louvers on the trunk for pushing air out..louvers on the back to let air in.. Rad. mounted in trunk frame with hoses to solid line to front of car... Rob.
April 29, 201015 yr Author ok so i have decided the rad will stay in the front even if i need to run a non subaru radiator im shure i can find one to fit up front with all the front mount intercoolers i have seen i know i can apply the same idea to a rad. thanks Rob. April 29, 201015 yr maybe a couple of the small honda 1992+ civic radiators sandwiched together up front, they dont take up much room and are efficient. Original OEM honda ones can probably be sourced really cheap on the honda forums, since those ricers tend to put in koyo or some other riced model that are less than efficient but have lots of bling, but no go effects.
