Rear O2 sensor

Featured Replies

From what Ive read here the rear O2 sensor can be replaced with an aftermarket one.Can anyone recommend which brand they used? Part #? This will be going on a 96 Legacy 2.2.

Ah yes put one in my 96 Legacy not to long ago, although some say aftermarket is ok for this part personally when it comes to pretty much an sensor on a Subaru I choose OEM, If you dont want to go to the dealer I can say Bosch is a decent brand in the aftermarket...

In my book Bosch makes an excellent product (Hey, they invented the oxygen sensor!)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the front and rear O2 sensors are identical on a '96 Legacy.

If you want a great price check out Amazon.com--$42 with free shipping.

Part #15726, it's a "universal" so requires splicing but they include a coupler and pretty good directions.

Good luck.
