I just picked up headrest for my 79 Brat and I need to know size of bolt/thread used to mount the headrest to the brat. Anyone know?????

So 4 IIRC 5x.8 is what I need then right??? Home depot or autozone??? Which is a better source to find them??

I buy them by the # at a local farm store with extensive hardware section

they are bigger than a 5mm

agreed, but that's the head size. he needs the thread size/pitch... which he can get at an autoparts store, but would most likely have a 13mm head...

 

I'll check with my sizer today....

okay. bolts are 8mm x 1.25. the stock ones took a 12mm socket for the head, but auto parts store metric bolts most likely will take a 13mm socket.

 

the 8mm x 1.25 is the important part

Thanks Mick... I found them at pepboys for that size and I bolted the headrest on and they worked perfect!!!!!!!
