I just picked up a awesome 83 Brat. Its a ea81 4 speed with 4l and 4h. What does gen 1 and gen 2 mean? Do I have a gen 1 or gen 2 and whats the differance? I have no owners manual.

You have a gen 2. you have gen 2 brat which was made from 82-87 US and 82-94? every where else a first gen brat is 77-81 they are stock 4sd S/r ea 71s with center mount starters but 81 brats have 4sd D/r with a ea81
