May 26, 201015 yr As part of my EJ22 swap, the motor is getting completely re-sealed. The oil pan gasket was cheap silicone - I'm talking clear low-temp garbage. The flange and everything around the bottom of the motor was caked with oil (could barely see the screws). I ordered a gasket from Advance - it never occurred to me that it might be cork ...it is. I hate cork. If anyone on here can vouch that it works, I'll stick with it. Otherwise returning it and going with ultra black. I don't want to have to do another OPG any time soon.

May 26, 201015 yr EJ oil pans are never gasketed. They are RTV sealed from the factory. Use Ultra Grey. GD
May 26, 201015 yr Agreed with GD...and they never really leak either. All the other leaks just make it seem that way
May 27, 201015 yr HELL no they don't work! It won't leak, it'll just seep and after 3 weeks it won't look any different than it probably does now. Take it back, use the money to buy a tube of ultra grey to seal it.
