August 29, 201015 yr Hmmm.. silver... not as flashy Silver is pretty bright, but might look fine with ur wheels and body color.
August 29, 201015 yr Author I don't think it will stick out as much now as when the car is painted black plus the wheel design I don't think will show too much caliper.. I'd have to check on Monday. I did buy a wire brush set from harbor freight today http://www.harborfreight.com/6-piece-wire-wheel-and-cup-brush-set-1341.html http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SILVER-CALIPER-PAINT-KIT-W-Ceramic-High-Performance-/400122546748?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item5d29298a3c
August 30, 201015 yr Author Question how many wheels in a box does tire track do? My supervisor and I can't figure out why it says package 2 of 3 but single package is 46 lbs
August 30, 201015 yr Author in the back of the trunk just had to open early to look.. in direct view it kinda all looks one color.. but then again the wheel was pointed upwards.. My box at work Edited August 30, 201015 yr by 1-3-2-4
August 30, 201015 yr Author lol better then what's on it now.. I wonder if I should just leave the centering ring on? I'm so used of using my legs to mount the tire. Oh yeah Edited August 30, 201015 yr by 1-3-2-4
August 31, 201015 yr Wait are those silver or gunmetal? I didn't see where you said which ones you decided on.
August 31, 201015 yr Those are gonna look great with some rubber on them! Whats the difference if you leave the centering ring on or not?
August 31, 201015 yr Author Wait are those silver or gunmetal? I didn't see where you said which ones you decided on. the gunmetal
August 31, 201015 yr Author Those are gonna look great with some rubber on them! Whats the difference if you leave the centering ring on or not? no big difference just helps with mounting the tire.
August 31, 201015 yr the gunmetal Really? They don't look nearly as dark as what they do on the website. That might look pretty nice on a white car...
August 31, 201015 yr Author Yeah I was pretty disapointed I had to check my order sheet.. And not painting white! Lol
August 31, 201015 yr I looked again and noticed it says "Finish: Bright Satin w/Machined Lip" for the gunmetal colored wheels. So I guess they have the wrong pic up or something. I was thinking that for my car, which is white.
September 2, 201015 yr Those are gonna look great! You said you were planning on painting it black, right? I cant wait to see the final product! Its going to be really nice.
September 2, 201015 yr Author Those are gonna look great! You said you were planning on painting it black, right? I cant wait to see the final product! Its going to be really nice. Yeah I will be painting the car flat black next year maybe around fall.
September 2, 201015 yr Yeah I will be painting the car flat black next year maybe around fall. Next fall! I take it you are gonna take it to a shop? Just roll it on yo, it does look really nice if done right!
September 3, 201015 yr Author Hmm I think I'm switching up again lol.. since these wheels are not 100% how it looked on the website it's between black and silver caliper paint leaning more towards black because of contrast. Might look a little funny at first on the brown car sucks that for the kits the only color the auto store has it red.. no wonder the ricers all use red :-/
November 8, 201015 yr Author hmm going to be buying the other two wheels in about two weeks but I'm having dirty thoughts of changing the wheel color to how I want it.. glossy black spokes with a shiny lip. my only concern at the moment is doing that how long can I expect the finish to last if doing the prep work the correct way? if I could get someone to photoshop it I think it will make the wheel look that much better.
November 8, 201015 yr Call your local dealer and ask who they use for wheel repairs. Theree are plenty of mobile wheel repair companies who can come to you and paint the wheel for you for $100 or so per wheel. Probably cheaper if you do the sanding.
November 8, 201015 yr Author I need a DIY project plus I wont be starting right away. i tried to change the wheel color in photoshop but I could not get the inner part dark enough.
November 9, 201015 yr Ah, you want a challenge. Find a paint supply shop, and buy automotive grade paint and clearcoat (if you want a glossy finish). Good paint will hold up fine on wheels. And if they'll be sitting for a while before being put on the paint will have plenty of time to cure.
