Quick question. Will the sway bar from a '99 outback fit my '96 legacy?

If your outback is the legacy version, it should. But if it's the Impreza Outback, no. We're talking wagons in both cases, right?

The sway bar came with a 98 or 99 legacy outback rear end I picked up the other day for the brakes and diff for something else. It has a bigger sway bar than my 96 legacy sedan. So I hoped I could throw it on as an upgrade.

width wise and over all contour it will fit. but because the outback has a thicker , larger diameter, sway bar, you will have to also swap in the rubber "bushings" as well.

So it'll fit as long as I use the rubber bushings that came on the outback one? awesome! thanks

Yeah just use the bushings that are attached to it, but I'm pretty sure the mounts will be different.
