homemade wiring problem xt6

Featured Replies

my fan control doesnt work anymore so i wired my fans to the battery and to a switch which leads to ground but it fried the switch so... should i just add a resistor or should i do something else?

You should wire a 15 or 20 amp fuse into the power lead before the switch. You should use a good 12v switch. Maybe there is a short in one of the fans/wiring and that's why they don't work like they should?

You need a relay. The fan pulls too many amps for a cheap switch. Use the switch to close the relay (take the power for it from an ignition switched hot) and then run fused battery power through the relay contacts and to the fan.
