A few questions about my EA-81

Recommended Posts

I am in the process of putting my EA-81 back together and had a few questions.

First Question - When I put the intake manifold back on should I use some Red Permatex on the head side if the surface is somewhat scored? What should I torque the bolts to?

Second Question - I pulled the pressure plate off of the clutch disc and forgot to mark it. Is it important how I put it back on? If so how is the best way to replace it.

Thanks a lot.

NO SEALANT. OEM gaskets installed 100% dry - 12 Ft/lbs. Chase all your threads and anti-seize them well.

Never seems to matter in my experience. Just install it and it should be fine. I've never paid any attention as most of the aftermarket clutch plate's aren't marked for orientation and most flywheel's have had the marks machined off .

Thank you GD!!!!!! Someone who knows you don't add sealant of ANY KIND to factory gaskets. I get so tired of cars coming into the shop where somebody used blue or orange rtv on a water pump, valve cover gaskets or worse yet, on silicone or neoprene gaskets. If it didn't come from the factory that way, DON'T DO IT!!!. Not chewing anyone here out, it's just my pet peeve. Sorry to jack the thread.......
