Hello all. I have a 97 legacy 2.2 motor! I got a DC sports 2.50 muffler on it.Sounded like a good idea at the time. i was trying to get the boxter rumble out of it.

Boy did I get more than i bargained for... rumble is like a roar, so loud , my rear view mirror comes out of place. I tried to quite it up by putting a 2.25 peice of pipe down the muffler. It sound a little better but its still a litttle loud. I know the obvious solution to this is to take it off and go back to stock....But I like it a little but I would like to tame it a little!

Anyone know where I can get a baffle or something for this thing.. Even a homemade one or something. I heard that harleys have baffles you can by at the motorcycle shop!!Anyone know of this????Input please!!!

Can you post a picture, or draw a picture of what you got? I think seeing something would help with advise.

i cant post pics so i can describe it as best as I can!! The muffler is 2.50 inches on the out let. I basically put a 9 inch long, 2.25 inch wide peice pipe inside the muffler...

I didnt know there was such thing as too much boxer rumble. LOL

i shut one up one time by putting an 18" resonator in the center of the exhaust. I used a purple hornet, but a cherry bomb will work too. I later took it off for MORE OBNOXIOUSNESS!!! I loved my 92 lego wagon.

I try the resonator if i cant find a baffle @ the motorcycle shop today!!! thanks guys!!!

Maybe you could try a Varex muffler? j/k, those are from Australia and could be too expensive.

Go buy a cherry bomb (glasspack, aka: resonator) and stick it somewhere inline before the muffler, If that doesn't quiet it done enough you might have to get a muffler with smaller pipes. Maybe try a 2" or 2.25" rather than 2.5.
