February 2, 201115 yr put one of those 2 inch block lifts in my 90 loyale and theres a pretty gnarly grinding noise when i accelerate or get past 5 mph that sounds like the axles but they are only 2 months old. what im wondering is that the 2 inch lift is putting too much stress on the axles w/o dropping anything? it looks like people get away with it all the time but somethin up there doesnt sound too good.:-\
February 2, 201115 yr when i accelerate or get past 5 mph that sounds like the axles but they are only 2 months old.that could be your problem. what kind of axles? aftermarket axles are generally terrible. i installed my 2" lift....also with brand new axles which worked fine before the lift....same thing, vibration on acceleration after the lift. installed low mileage MWE axles and it's been fine for over a year with a good many miles on it.

February 2, 201115 yr an external grinding like rotors? snow/debris/wheels? jack up the front and rotate them by hand to see if it grinds. that you mention acceleration suggests to me it's axles. how about if you coast down a long grade on a hill?
February 3, 201115 yr installed low mileage MWE axles and it's been fine for over a year with a good many miles on it. Is MWE an aftermarket MFG? Where do you find them? Thanks
February 3, 201115 yr Author just gonna drop the crossmember and rear diff, but next time i buy axles ill definetly look into gettin a pair of those. whered you buy em?
February 3, 201115 yr Jack the back of the car up and spin the wheels, see if one or the other makes a noise.
