95 Legacy Outback Aluminum Wheels

Featured Replies

Can these be polished at all? The reason I ask is that mine are pitted from the Magnesium and Salt they put on the roads here. They look like garbage! Maybe go easy on them with a Dremel and then polish them out?????

They have a clear coat. If you start polishing it will be a long task.

You could strip the clear coat and then have them power coated.

Strip the clearcoat. Polish them with metal polish. (more difficult than it sounds) Then re-clear them.

Much easier to strip the clear, sand them down, and paint or powder-coat them.

Yeah they are painted with a clear.

You could always scruff them up with 100 gritt and then repaint them with another metalic steal color (Or any color of your choice of course)

I repainted mine flat white (Engine enamel) and it works and looks great!

This is all you need to refinish your wheels yourself. Just get the clear after you're done.

They have the proper clear on the site also. Eastwood specializes in auto restoration supplies and the quality of their products is second to none. I've used their products when I restored a couple of classic cars.
