i have a weber on an 86 brat . when i come to a stoplight it idles at 2000 until i give the throttle a tiny blip and it drops back down to between 700-800. so far i have only carb cleaned eveything and got a new throttle cable . i also lubed the new cable in case they didn't . what next ?

Adjust the choke? There are fast-idle adjustments but they aren't usually touched..... I would check the choke and adjust it first as it is integral to the fast-idle mechanism.
