cleaned up the heads from my dead engine,and it lokks like there is a crack between the valves on ALL cylinders!

Is this common,or is this a cast mark?

Probably just casting marks. I remember seeing the same thing on my EA81, and thought they were cracks. Turns out they werent.

cracks between the valves are common on ea82s. The vast majority of the time they are nothing to worrie about.

iv'e seen many of those,the ones that are cracked bad will be really clean {preasure wasned w/coolant} iv'e also seen the cracks peened w/ a center punch, to try and fix them??? and the old school test.lay head out side and fill cyinder"head w/gas and time how long it takes to drain out. or not. as i recall if 1/2the gas is still there in 10 min.your good to go. or something like that, the more gas retained the better. good luck todd
