what is a resinator for? i took off the pipe today and i looked thru it and it is just as hollow as the rest of the pipe, what is it for and what is it suppose to do? thnx

ill take ur word for it but there is absolutely nothing in there it is as hollow as the rest of the pipe, but thnx for the reply.

It works just like a second muffler. I think the idea is that is slows and smooths the exhaust flow, reducing the exhaust noise, and perhaps any resonance of the exhaust pipes??? (just a guess, i don't know for sure but a resonator must have something to do with resonance or resonating. either one would make exhaust more noisy.)

a resonator is just what i sounds like

the length and size of the chamber change the resonating frequency <the air vibrations>

so its usually softer more burbly sounding instead of sounding like a pissed off chain saw lol

either leave it on or off it really does not have a lot of affect on exhaust restriction

for more of a idea go look into speaker box port tuning

same idea sorta diffrent size vents help cancel out unwanted frequency and tune so others are more pronounced

but thats from what i know of it

so i may be wayy off base here

you hit it right on the head.....
