Flex plate bolt torque

Featured Replies

Have the engine out and replaced the oil baffle plate. Can't find torque specs for the flex plate.

Anyone have them?

Very tight - not much help. I usually run them on with an impact and I'd guess about 90 lbs or so.

But for those that know I assume you're talking about the bunch of them around the crank that hold the flexplate onto the engine and not the 4 that hold the flexpate to the TC(infact I don't know how you'd ever be able to measure ft/lbs there anyways).

torque converter mounting mounting bolts = 17 - 19 ft. lbs.

according to haynes.

EDIT: i wonder if we could get haynes to give us a digital version of their manual so we could put it in a sticky...........?

Right, I meant the bunch that connect the flex plate to the crank

Same as for a flywheel.

From the 99 FSM

72±3 N-M

7.3±0.3, kg-M

52.8±2.2 ft lbs

from 1990 FSM

flexplate/flywheel mounting bolts

58 - 62 ft lbs

flexplate to torque convertor

17-20 ft lbs.

:)
