June 20, 201114 yr Not sure if anyone else has had this issue but I notice from right turns only with the turn signal on and I let the wheel return to center on it's own my turn signal instead of stop flashing it will switch over to the left turn signal. At first I thought it was just me... I'm going to guess it's something with the roll connector? It's no big deal it just gets annoying because you never know when it might happen.
June 21, 201114 yr I've got a 97 Legacy L Wagon that will sometimes turn the left signal OFF as I turn the wheel into the turn. So if I'm waiting to turn left it's fine but as I start to turn at the point where it would bump it on the way back it bumps it the way out. It's hit or miss and I have already signaled so it's not that big of a problem.
June 21, 201114 yr I've seen this happen on a few cars. I figure it's just a worn detent spring in the signal switch, but I've never had one apart to find out.
June 22, 201114 yr There's a ball with a spring. The ball bearing is forced up over a little hill into a valley when you turn it right or left. In the center the ball bearing is in a bigger valley. Over time the hills between the top valleys sort of erode. And the reason it falls into left is because gravity is already pulling the stick downwards, so since it's going down anyway having just come from turning right it keeps on going... I hope that sort of makes sense.
June 23, 201114 yr I have this. The cam is worn, and at almost 300,000 miles it is allowed. I am not really going to dig into the steering wheel to fix it unless it gets worse.

June 24, 201114 yr Author it's just annoying.. I guess this person did lots of left turns and always used the turn signal unlike BMW owners
June 24, 201114 yr Author Hah it's true I bet if someone did the statistics on that stuff they would see!
