July 26, 201114 yr This is the lone question I have in my swap research. Donor impreza purchased last weekend, swap parts purchasing happening now. One more EJ GL wagon will be on the loose soon in Seattle.
July 26, 201114 yr For EA82's the answer is yes. For EA81's there does not exist a stock axle that will match this combo - you have to build your own. GD

September 9, 201114 yr Make that a manual trans turbo axle, the auto trans turbos stayed 23 spline. 4EAT automatic equipped cars from 88-90 use the 25 spline.
September 12, 201114 yr To add to the confusion that you're trying to clear up, the front wheel drive EJ gearboxes (not AWD) are still 23 inch spline. But why you'd drop in the EJ and a front wheel drive gearbox is beyond me! Cheers Bennie

Cheers Bennie do not know if that is correct, as people on bbslegacy central sometimes go replace the fronts on the turbo cars with axles from FWD car, cause the shafts are beefier on the fwd model, think splines all same.

All EJ autos are 4EAT's, which means 25 spline. It's the early FWD 5spds in Legacies and Imprezas up to 95 that are 23 spline.
