2000 forester...does it have 3pt belts in rear center?

Featured Replies

I guess the subject heading says it all. I'm wondering if a 2000 forester has three point belts for the center back seat. I did some half-hearted internet searches and came up dry...

Thanks in advance.

Cant find the info on it either. Going to need to find an actual vehicle or seller of one to verify this I think. My gut says 2 3 point and 1 lap rear. I dont think the center 3 point starts till around 2005.

Thanks for the info. I checked an '02 Legacy GT a while back and I'm pretty sure that had 3pts in the center rear position. It's important info for people with one child (i.e. the center rear is the safest position for a booster seat, but they don't work well with just a lap belt.)

You gave me an idea when you mentioned finding a seller of a 2000 Forester. I'll do a google image search for a 2000 Forester back seat and see if I can find anything.

Thats odd, i would think they do, all the other soobys have them.

looks like 2001 was when the foresters all got 3 three-point rear seat belts.

here's a guy with a 2000 that has a rear center lap belt:

is it really that date specific? i've always wondered about changes like this...do they really happen on January 1st so to speak? and on every single model....L and S models the same day?
