HELP: Buying decision: Forester vs. B9 vs. Outback

Featured Replies

Hi all,

In my country, the 2012 Tribeca, 3.6 Outback and Forester 2.5 Turbo all cost about the same; now, which would be your top choice out of the three and why?. My priorities are 1. passenger and cargo room 2. performance, and 3. fuel economy, uh, I'm 6 feet 2 inches tall by the way...

Thank you:)

I think I'd go in the order you listed... due to your ordered needs...

Tribeca

Outback

Forester

The tribeca is gonna be the largest for passenger and Cargo, but less mileage...

the new outbacks are pretty big now though too...

We've got a new body Forester Turbo, and the turbo is nice, but on highway trips more than 35 miles, I need to use cruise because my knee wants to explode... and if my wife is driving, she notices it in her back after 35 miles... we didn't notice this really until we moved out of town and had a longer commute... with the seat raise as high as it will go it feels the best for me... with cruise, and stopping to stretch once in a while, longer trips aren't too bad. For vacation trips, we wish it was a little bigger....

+1, i'd bump the forester to the bottom of the list unless something compelling happens to change your mind. your priority of space/cargo/people suggests you're likely to utilize the extra room than wish it were smaller.

but it's a turbo, so good news either way
