axle for 05 LLbean Outback

Featured Replies

Do the same axles that fit the 4 cylinder models fit the six cylinder models?

Thanks

Try rockauto.com. I you put in the year and model and then select the part you can click on the PN and it will bring up all the years and models.

Yes they should be the same axles. If you have a torn boot, just reboot the OEM axle. Do not put an aftermarket one in as it can cause vibrations like an out of balance tire. Seen quite a few with vibrations and turned out to be an aftermarket axle. If its making noise, find a good used one and reboot it or get ready for a $400 axle from the dealer.

yes, use 2001+ 4 or 6 cylinder axles.

avoid aftermarket axles like the plague. reboot yours or reboot a used axle. if you get a used Subaru axle, at least reboot in the inner DOJ, they typically only last a year, maybe two if you install a used axle. seen it many, many times and i just reboot them now.

if you're not aware of the aftermarket axle issues, then just search any online subaru forum and read thread after thread of issues. vibrations, noises, and even completely blowing to pieces...waste of time.
