October 28, 201114 yr i just bought a 87 xt turbo after cranking it to try to get it to start the digi dash didnt light up and more but in the sun light you can see it working. My question is would i need to replace the lights behind the dash? and if i do and one know how to go about this? thanks
October 28, 201114 yr Each of the "wings" behind the steering wheel with all the controls have a sliding switch on the bottom. The right switch is for the wiper speed and the left adjusts the instrument panel illumination levels. I'd suspect the problem lies here.

October 28, 201114 yr take them apart and check the wiring? No... Hes saying that the dash has a knob that adjusts the light level on it. (dimmer,brighter). Check there first.

October 29, 201114 yr It sounds to me that there is a problem with the power supply to the display. If that is the case you may need to replace the dash.
