I bough t metric rims by accident, 15 1/2 instead of the 15. Can't find tires in US.....can I grind them down a little...any ideas? Old Peugeot rims.

I think those are 390mm rims. You can actually get tires, but you have to order them. And no, you can't just grind them down.

Oh. Mistakes happen.

 

Best to just scrap them, and begin the search for some 15x6 non metric (there are stampings on the outer ring to identify) so you don't get same thing again.

 

Even the Peugeot crowd on their forum do not want these.

Yes, scrap them now while scrap prices are high.

Tires can be had from a Michelin dealer on special order. Price is high enough that it's worth it to get other rims and tires instead.

This is an ad for the correct (Non 390) rims. Portland is not too far away. I could bring them back for you next time I'm in Portland on business.
