Compared to the new boxer the layout is completely different. The intake manifold is inverted. I do not see power steering pump so assume it is finally electric.

Curious if there ever will be a AWD version comming

Are the two bars from the strut towers really for body rigidity? I thought those went out with the '70s. Sweet car though, and great color!

Since there is a rear drive transmission (and no transaxle) the engine can sit back and lower. There would be no room for AWD with this setup.

No it has a conventional transmission and rear differential.

 

A transaxle is a transmission and differential unit built together. Subaru's being AWD have front transaxle AND rear differential.

The Corvette would have a rear transaxle unit.
