According to Subaru all tires should match in circumference within 1/4". I have read that putting them as they are on your car can work for a short period of time but is recommended for them to have all four matching within 1/4". You could match them front and rear and then put a fuse in the FWD holder (under hood by passenger strut mount) and run the car for a short while in FWD. Either of these two options may shorten the life of some internal parts of the auto transmission.

Ok well here's my set up right. Now ill look after school how close they match.......

O o

o O very poor diagram but all I can really give you since I'm on my phonelol. But if they match within a 1/4 inch I should be good like that?

. . . if they match within a 1/4 inch I should be good like that?

That's right--just be sure you measure the circumference not the diameter.

Going back to the HG work, my 2 cents: take note of any oil leak there might be right now, and clean the engine really well before removing it. You'll be glad you did it. Also, if you get salt in the roads, expect some of the hardware to be rusted... specifically the exhaust manifold studs & nuts. You can buy the studs for $1.50 or so ea. at places like 1stSubaru, so it makes little sense to battle a rusted stud instead. Ask me how I know :)
