February 12, 201214 yr I was wondering were most people attach chains to on the motor when removing the engine I know there is a mounting pointon the front of the motor Thanks for any help
February 12, 201214 yr There should be a little arch-shaped bracket on the bell housing on the rear of the engine. Use that and the bracket on the front you mentioned.
February 12, 201214 yr i've usually always used the bracket on the rear of the motor for the motor mount bar. and on the front i believe it is the p/s bracket that has a hole on it for bolting a chain to it. just my 2 cents! throw a 4x4 in the mix and it comes out with ease
February 13, 201214 yr Not orthodox, but I've strung straps around the block cozied up to the oil pan to keep pressure off the heads, stuck a pole through both straps, put a friend on the far end of the pole, and counted to three. Light motor and easy to get out.
February 13, 201214 yr I like to mount the chain to the pitch stopper mount using the bolt through a link, and the other end to the p/s pump. I f you remove the p/s pup, you can thread a bolt thru the chain to one of its holes on the block.
