went to local parts cons for new rotors and drums for my 83 wagon, they couldnt figure out which ones i needed cause i guess there are options in date of manufactur???? or some crap. will any drum/rotor for an 83 work or whats the difference:-\

Vented vs non-vented rotors.

Vented if 1983 4wd auto.

Vented if built 7/83 on.

Unvented otherwise.

If its non vented can I put vented on it?

I think you need to swap calipers.I haven`t done it.

Vented will chew up pads quicker. Rockauto should have standard non vented Rotors instock.
