February 21, 201214 yr Hello everybody! I'm the proud owner of a 1982 GL wagon (2wd unfortunately). I got it about 3 years ago when I was 15 from my neighbor for 500 bucks, and I've been tinkering with it ever since! I rebuilt the engine, did the weber conversion, installed a stereo, put new carpet in, and A LOT more other random things. She runs like a charm now, aside from the occasional problem here and there. After college I hope to restore her to almost new condition, once I have a little bit more spending money. I can't believe I just found this site... You guys would have come in handy so many times! Well anyways, I'm happy to be a part of USMB now and I hope to contribute some of my knowledge to the pot.
February 21, 201214 yr Welcome aboard. Always nice to hear from someone that's interested in saving an ea81! And as said above, we do love pics!

February 22, 201214 yr Author The last picture didn't show up, but if you click on the link you'll see that I had to bump up the hood a little bit to make room for the weber...
February 22, 201214 yr Welcome! The Weber carbs have two different Basic Air Filters, one measures 2½" inches tall and another one which measures 1¾" inches tall; maybe you're Running your subie's engine with the Tallest one, while you need the Shortest one. About how to post Pictures Here: I have an easy Guide in my "Public Profile" Page, you just need to Click on my Avatar to reach there and you'll also be able to see the List of my Main Writeups and useful files download Links. Kind Regards. Edited February 22, 201214 yr by Loyale 2.7 Turbo
February 23, 201214 yr Author Okay, thanks! I'm having a hard time figuring out the whole pictures thing.
February 23, 201214 yr Author Can you guys see these ones? I signed up for one of those picture sharing sites and I'm using the url's.
February 23, 201214 yr Toreador Red, love that color. It's the same color I repainted my 82 4x4 in (was brown to begin with) Looks like a DL from the pics, as it has smaller all black trim, no rear wiper, and no rh door mirror. Looks super solid, nice find

Looks super solid, nice find Oh yeah i was looking at your Toreador wagon and was pretty jealous... I was wondering if you painted it, it looks wayyyy nicer than mine. I want to paint mine soon but I'm really looking forward to stripping it down. And yeah it actually is a DL unfortunately... Didn't come with a tach or anything either, but I put one in. I might need your advice every once in a while, your 2wd build is ************ing rad! Coming along beautifully.

Yeah the shorter one would have been nice, but I got the 2.5 incher for free, so I just thought I'd use it. It's fine now since I bumped the hood. Thanks though! I was wondering how everyone on here fit the weber in.
February 23, 201214 yr I like your Subie a lot! We never got the Leone in 2WD, but I would love one for sure! Good to hear it getting restored.
February 23, 201214 yr Author Thanks man! I love it. I have to pay for college soon, so the restoration process is probably going to take quite a while, but I'll definitely keep you all updated!
