Binding on 97 OB 5mt?

Featured Replies

I'm not sure if you call it binding or dragging since I've never been in a car that dragged.

Anyways I notice is the most when say I turn the wheel say two times to the right or left to park in a space or whatever it feels like the whole car wants to slow down more then normal.

For people that have binding do you have any sounds?

Normal stuff to check first:

- Tires Matched

- Tire Pressure

If all is good, the viscous unit in the trans is the most likely problem

^^^ yep - hope it isn't the center diff. Tires must be same model/inflation and wear (to within 2 or 3 32")

you might get under there and check axles and u-joints too, but those are longshots.

I was just curious it might be the brake on the passenger side as well.. if it is the center diff then no big deal since I just wanted to know if it was worth saving when I pull the transmission
