Lowering the 89 XT

Featured Replies

I have a completely stock 89 XT and hate the fender gap. Are there and struts I can take off another subaru that would fit and lower my car?

Is your car 4wd or 2wd? 4 or 6 cylinder?

Push button 4wd. 4 cylinder.

The fronts you can use 2WD XT struts.

The rears are a little more involved. There's two options: coilovers or ground control springs. There's many different ways to do it.

Also check out http://subaruxt.com/forum/ and read up what they have done to lower theirs.

i believe you can also flip the rear strut tops to lower it.

Hayden, Gunnar's over at the south end of Commerce can get you the 2wd XT front struts for like $50/Side

well i want the car lower so will these lower it since theyre stock?

and its nice to see another longview/kelso member.

Those will lower the front, and I have some spare coils for the rear and some adjustable sleeves that you could pick up.

Ok awesome. Thanks guys. Do you know how much it will lower the front end. Also thinking of getting H&R lowering springs.

And not to pimp my stuff for sale here in a tech forum, but I'm going to have some 14" pugs for sale here before too long, if you're interested.

If you do get some 2wd XT front struts, please make a note of the part numbers before you fit them. I've had trouble finding them...
