May 24, 201213 yr Long story short I pulled engine and changed the clutch. Now I got check engine light and an egr code. The car now stumbles and I hear cycling sound in the ecu. Any ideas? It is a 94 Loyale wagon. Thanks
May 24, 201213 yr Bad ground. Check your connections at the main connectors and the grounds to the block. Particularly the one to the pass side of the intake.
May 25, 201213 yr Probably not the ECU, more likely a relay clicking. The ignition and fuel pump relays are only a few inches from the ECU. That is a normal sound for a relay, NOT a normal sound for the ECU. The ECU has no moving parts to click--if it IS clicking, it probably isn't working.
May 25, 201213 yr unplug the green diagnostic conector on the ds side firewall there is two a black single wire ones and green two wire ones probly pluged in when job was done they are just for timing and diagnostic and should be left unpluged
May 26, 201213 yr Author The test connectors are unpluged. The clicking is from relay just above the ecu. What would this relay control? :banghead:The car starts and idles fine just stumbles under load. 2-3 grand on tach. Got new plugs and fuel filter. Don't have a ground to intake on passenger side. Going to check grounds and try coding again tomorrow.
May 26, 201213 yr Relays normally click when they first power up. Are you trying to say they click continuously? They should just click a couple times when you start the car, and the fuel pump relay may click occasionally as it powers up and down while you drive, though not continuously.
May 29, 201213 yr feul lines on backwards ? or pinched wire harness or no ground check where the main engine harness plugs together mabee dident plug in properly sometimes the pins get bent and miss the conector
