Heater core hoses

Featured Replies

One day when replacing my starter contacts I bumped one of the hoses and it started to spray a bit (system still under pressure) so that's where my coolant loss was going.. my question is this a dealer item or auto parts store item? I know some auto store stuff is cut to fit but still sometimes has funny bends.

Dayco, Gates, or the dealer. Personally I prefer the oem hoses. Aftermarket tend to be thicker walled and the factory clamps dont like that.

Yeah I noticed that on my lower radiator hose.. it was a direct fit but with the factory clamp it drips but not enough to leave a spot on the ground, if I change it again (because I hate things that drip) I'm going to replace the top hose as well since it's overdue.

Definitely replace the lower hose clamps if your car is approaching 10 yrs old. They will eventually corrode and break, thereby allowing hose to slip off and dump coolant, leaving you on side of road.

I did replace it with a screw clamp but just the hose it's self is a little off it seems.
