Fusible Link

Featured Replies

Been digging up and trying but after a few days im going the lazy route and asking you guys...

I have an '86 EA82 GL that I recently bought, rebuilt and have been putting around in while my WRX gets painted. However I have been concerned with blowing these fusible links.

The lid that houses them shows 4 links but opening it there are only 3 inside and the 4th one (or one closest to the front of the car) is not only missing but only has one terminal to plug the link onto. As I have noticed a few other things that were wired different I'm wondering if this has been messed with by a previous owner.

I will most likely be going out to the Junkyard for a little R&D zzz but if anyone has info on what goes to and from each link that would be awesome. And hopefully "The Goat" will be getting me to and from work again soon.

Cheers!

My info shows the green link should tie to the ignition relay. It sounds like the link has been bypassed somewhere. Is there a jumper on the bottom side of housing?

Sounds normal. Most EA82's have only 2-3 links. I think the furthest one forward was for something like air suspension or something.

Mine only has three and is exactly like yours with the one terminal on the fourth hole. If everything works, everything is fine. Fusible links control major things, if there was a problem you'd definitely know it.
