Knock Sensor/Evap code trouble

Featured Replies

Hey guys, my 98 obs auto just had the CEL come on for a knock sensor and evap/emissions code. I know that the knock sensor is a pretty simpe change, and could very easily fix that code (because the sensor housing is prone to cracks and corrosion) but could that cause the evap code? Any ideas about that one?

Evap code is usually a loose fuel filler cap, but there are several codes for the evap system.

Post the exact code if you have it and we can give better advice.

Often if it's not the cap or a dry rotten hjose it's the fuel filler tube.

yeah, from what I've read, could be rotted filler neck.

knock sensor may be cracked.

Still, could be worth clearing the codes to see which ones come back. I've had a bad battery set 'spurious' codes. But, on a '98 , those both easily could be legit.
