March 13, 201313 yr Hi Recently the contol arm drivers side front broke due to rust. The axle got pretty mangled and I replaced it along with the control arm and tire. Now I get a whining noise when I decelerate. Doesn't matter if the clutch is in or out or what gear it's in. Even makes the noise in neutral. Noise only happens when I let up on the gas. I got another tire installed (used) to replace the one that got chewed up when the control arm broke. Now the noise is twice as loud. It's a loud whine. I'm thinking the F. differential carrier bearing might have been damaged. What do you guy's think?
March 13, 201313 yr so to any damage to the diff bearing you would crack the bearing preload flange thingy. It would take an almost direct side impact into the CV axle shoving the diff through the tranny. I've seen it happen one time in my life of wrenching on these cars. I bet it smoked the wheel bearing
March 13, 201313 yr Not to mention that all 4 tires need to be within a quarter of an inch in circumference. Is the "new" tire?
