Shocks for 4" lift?

Featured Replies

Anyone have any suggestions on what kind of shock to put on a 4" lift 82 wagon. I was told by someone that I can get a Ranch shock that will fit a 4" lift. Anyone know what type of Ranch?

For the rear you need a top mount of XP7 and a lower mount of LS26 or simlilar. If you go to www.gorancho.com and look at the specs of their shocks. They list the top mount, bottom mount, extended and compressed lengths. Just crossmatch the needed length to the type of mounts you need to get the rancho part number. You might not be able to find a LS26 exactly but any of the 12mm ones work with just a few washers to take up the space.

You will also have to drill out the XP7 holes to clear the larger bolts.

For the fronts, follow this: http://www.subarubrat.com/frntshk.htm

Somewhere on the internet there is a catalog showing all the monroe shocks with all the tech data on mounts, travel, compressed length, etc..... I used that to get high travel (and inexpensive) shocks for my old jeep. I am afraid I dont know the URL but I will be looking for it in the near future to put new shocks on my Brat when I put on the 3" lift.

I know everyone has a different opinion but I think rancho shocks are over priced and over rated. (Dont spam me all you Rancho lovers) :-)

If you want something expensive yet pretty damn cool......get some air adjustable shocks.......change your stance with a bit of air. I used to have those on an old International Scout.

No spam, just recognize sour grapes when I see em'.

If any one know where to find all the Monroe specs on the web PLEASE PLEASE post the link. I have been looking for that for a while now :banghead:
