No pulse... flatlining injectors

Featured Replies

Not sure how to explain this but from what the mechanic told me my 87 GL turbo wagon is loosing injector pulse after 15 to 20 seconds. It will start, idle, will not rev... then die after 30 seconds or so... at this point im kinda lost. The motors a low mileage jdm all the injectors have been tested good, fuel pump is good, and pressure regulator is good. Any advice that any of you have to offer would be greatly appreciated. The only thought Ive had is needing a good ecu... am i close?

Check your grounds, all of them, I had this same problem, would start for a couple seconds then die. Had a bad ground (unattached actually). If I had my pinouts laying around I could tell you exactly which one, but alas, I don't. So pull up a wireing digram, and pinout for the computer and follow all the grounds, make sure the ends are clean and have good contact, as well as the wires themselves, check for breaks in the insulation, or "hanging on by a thread". Lotsa luck, I know how a real pain these things can be.

Would this be a concern even with the injectors firing for a short time though? I would think that they wouldnt work at all... unless its just a weak ground... good thoughts... the list starts

Take and inventory of your trouble codes on the ECU, that's a good place to start too.
